A weekly series of images I shoot to show what I am grateful for.
This week has been rough.
And I feel a bit off.
So this week's grateful series is helping me stay in the present and not focus on the overwhelming other "stuff."
Because that's what it is. Stuff.
So let's start with these sweet faces.
Kitten fuzzy faces. And they aren't technically ours. Because our one cat is fixed. He ain't no papa.
I am a sucker for animals. And being a sucker for animals means that these little faces...ack. It's taking all I have to not wrap them up and bring them inside the house.
Back story: A few weeks ago I told my mister that I thought I could hear kittens. He laughed. "Nah," he said, "surely not."
And then he called me the next day after my plane landed in Missouri to tell me that he had discovered that one of the neighborhood mamma cats decided that our shed looked the best place for her babes.
Three little furry faces. Oy.
I love little ones, but now I have to find homes for them. AND THEY AREN'T EVEN MINE.
No, no, no.
We are a one cat home and it's going to stay that way.
But, dang if they aren't cute. And I'm thankful that they make me happy. I instantly feel my blood pressure go down when I pick up the little fuzzballs.
Mamma Cat, keeping watch from our neighbor's roof. We think she's feral. That's a problem. So I'm trying to gain her trust and find a home for her, too.
Can I say it again...
Beyond grateful that I have friends that encourage and support me. This message was the balm I needed after a particularly rough patch earlier this week. Thank you, my friend, from the bottom of my heart.
Grateful that I can come home and sit outside for that in-between time. The time between dinner, and meetings, and stuff, and stuff, and stuff. And find comfort in Nature. Find peace. And see a light there.

So hang in there, friends, if you are finding yourself in a rough couple of days. I send you all the encouragement I have.
