A Guest Blogger Series
Sweet, sweet Nicole. She's shared here on Ruby & Perry before in such a lovely and honest way and I am so pleased that she shares today's lovely Mamma Anthology. It's ripe with wisdom, reflection, and encouragement.
Check out more of her work here.
Thank you so much for sharing, Nicole! It was lovely to share this space with you again.

Hi, I'm Nicole from Germany and I feel so very honored to write a guest post here.
When Ashley asked me to write something for her Mamma Anthologies series I was like, "Yes, of course. Why not?!"
I have to admit: After I clicked the "send" button I was more like, "What? Me? I'm only a mum of two who tries to stay awake all day long to finally fall asleep again with my kids at 8 p.m."
Ok, it's not that bad and it's getting better everyday ;)
So, here is what I actually want to say:
I'm a perfectionist. And when it comes to being a mum I feel like my perfectionism quadruples somehow.
On instagram and also in my "analog"-life I'm following/ knowing mamas who really inspire me in my "mum-life."
They challenge me being more present, more aware, more patient, etc. with my kids. And that's pretty cool.
But, sometimes often I feel so much pressure to be more this or that or something else and sometimes it seems to me that everything I do is never enough.
That, of course, is not because of them writing their stories...it's because of me. You get what I mean?
I realized that I have to step back a little bit. I had to step back from the opinions, advice, stories of all the amazing mothers out there. Their stories are not my story.
Recently I read a blog post from another mamma-blogger* who wrote: "You are doing a good job, Mamma!" That hit home and dropped right in my heart!
I am doing a good job!
And yes: there is always something we can improve, getting better and so on in mammahood.
But for now: You are doing a good job!!!
*Unfortunately I can't remember who that was :/ but I'm so very thankful for that mamma!
Love from Germany!
