(Dear K, my sweet, sweet friend - this post is just for you! Much love!)
Are you finding yourself wired when it comes time for bed? Can't turn off that brain? Feeling some soreness?
I know you think that I think that yoga is the answer to everything.
Okay, maybe not. But, it's close.
Just try it. And then try to tell me I'm wrong.
A Smorgasbord of Choices, Folks
Something to keep in mind: There's a lot of evidence that electronics keep our brains abuzzing and make it difficult to go to sleep. It is recommended that you turn off all electronics at least an hour prior to bedtime to allow your brain to settle down and prepare for sleep. Therefore, if you are going to watch a video prior to bed, it is best to do so at least an hour before.
This one isn't a video, but it's a short sequence that has some really relaxing poses: Before-Bed Yoga Sequence.
This first sequence is a bit longer, but really, really good for settling down after a long day.
Looking for one that isn't necessarily a before-bed routine but need to wind down after work? This sequence is much shorter - about 4 minutes and it is fairly fast-paced - but soooo good. And it's not "technically" a before bed routine, but if you're feeling this relaxed, sleep should come much easier.
Happy Saturday, friends! Give yoga a chance and get a good night's sleep.
