Paige Maitland of the blog, Pilgrim, says it so beautifully. Take notice. Look hard at your life and see the absolute beauty of it despite the difficulty.
Because life can so very hard. So messy. Full of heartache, full of disappointment. We've all experienced that. Blundered through it. Maybe felt like we made it worse.
Well, you didn't. Even if it seems like it at the time.
Time has a way of proving that despite all the hard stuff, the ugly stuff, the monotonous stuff, there is good, good, good. And there always will be.
I choose good.
Sometimes I have to force myself to.
Sometimes the last thing I feel like doing is looking around, nodding to the Universe in acknowledgement, and mouthing, "Thank you for this." And if we're being really honest here, sometimes I want to flip the Universe the bird more than I want to say thank you.
But, but, but.
On those days in particular (or weeks, or months...), I notice that when I do make a grateful list, I start to see all that I have. And I am reminded that I will be taken care of. Despite all the crap.
So my challenge to you is this - make a grateful list every day of November. Take a moment. Nod to the Universe, to your Higher Power, Buddha, your Faith, Nature - whatever it is that works for you - in acknowledgement.
Happy, beautiful Saturday to you, my friends. Here's to seeing the everyday good.
