I've been working on a new website for a few months now and being the personality type that I am, I have been messing with it and messing with it and changing things around and hemming and hawing and finally realized that I needed to just hit the publish button already and give it life.
So, from now on, I'll be posting over on www.ashleyhallmark.com. I felt scattered having two websites - one for my personal work and one for my photography business - so it feels good to have everything in one place.
This site will eventually expire, but I'll keep all my old content here (it'll become www.rubyandperry.weebly.com if you want to bookmark it) because this place is full of 3+ years of memories.
Thanks for following along all these years and hop on over to the new site to see what we've been up to.
Christmas Eve was calm, quiet, and content for 2016. It made me so happy to spend the day with Mom and Dad and their newest addition, Jake. He may be little, but don't let that fool you - he's quite the hilarious little sass. True to his Border Collie roots, he spent a good chunk of our walk trying to "herd" us.
Dad was cutting cedar and Mom and I walked most of the farm. I discovered a bird's nest that had fallen to the ground, and we found a giant deer rub before heading back to the house.
It was a good way to spend the day.
"Angels are wonderful but they are so, well, aloof.
It's what I sense in the mud and the roots of the trees, or the well, or the barn, or the rock with its citron map of lichen that halts my feet and makes my eyes flare, feeling the presence of some spirit, some small god, who abides there. If I were a perfect person, I would be bowing continuously.
I'm not, though I pause wherever I feel this holiness, which is why I'm so often late coming back from wherever I went.
This sunrise. This place. The incredible things that have been brought to fruition after a stretch of chaos and confusion. The good that can and will come. Hold tight to that.
